A Complete Guide with Prices

Chilton Books, 1995

My guide to football cards is meant to be an enjoyable reading experience, in addition to being accurate and informative. For the collector and sophisticated fan, football cards help us arrange the game in our minds and allow us to participate more fully as spectators.

This beautifully illustrated first edition traces the history of the hobby, provides an extensive price listing, and uncovers the mystery of the 'anonymous' Mayo football card of 1893, among other informational gems. Collectors wanting to get a clear background of this great hobby can do no better than to read my book.

Football cards give a human face to a swift, exciting game and I believe the pleasure I take in collecting cards shows through in my book. It's a worthwhile activity for experts and beginners, children and adults. My ongoing work on this hobby continues in SPORTS COLLECTORS DIGEST, a weekly Krause publication. To fans and collectors everywhere, I wish you the very best.
